WHAT IS SADWANK? The Society for the Adoration of Doctor Who Actresses, No Kidding began in October 1997 after some discussion on the usenet newsgroup rec.arts.drwho between Andrew Raymond and Charles Daniels, about the need for a sexual forum dealing with women in Doctor Who, to complement the forum for those who prefer men that was provided by the Paul McGann Estrogen Brigade. The name Sadwank was coined by Andrew Raymond, and the original listowner was Gerard Sweeney. At first Sadwank was based on the coollist server, but after a few months this proved unreliable, and by March 1998 very few messages were getting through. The list was restarted in May 1998 on the onelist server where it still resides. The listowner was and remains Steve Hill (shill66@xnet.com). Stephen Black (microskirt@hotmail.com) joined him as co-listowner in May 1999. HOW DO I POST TO SADWANK? Send your e-mail message to sadwank@onelist.com and it will be automatically distributed to the many sadwankers across the globe. Never post attachments: onelist strips them off when compiling digests, so people who receive sadwank in digest mode won't get them. WHAT SHOULD I POST TO SADWANK? Any kind of material is appropriate to Sadwank, provided it both (a) has sexual content and (b) deals with Doctor Who. Some of the more popular topics include spanking, boots, underwear, nudity and companion costumes and body parts (i.e. breasts, legs, bottoms and so on). However, this does not mean that other tastes and interests are excluded. Far from it: anything goes! Broadly speaking there are three categories of material that get posted: (1) Fantasy. This could range from full-blown erotic fiction to posts along the lines of 'my favourite female companion and what I would like to do with/to her'. (2) Information. Many of us try to use the list to keep one another informed about sightings of Doctor Who actresses and actors wearing less than usual. This could be in films, television programmes, stage plays, magazines or web pages. It's a good idea to write about what you saw as fully as possible. (3) Discussion. We've had often quite serious conversations about the sexual aspects of Doctor Who and our reaction to them. Everyone should be able to contribute something to Sadwank. Although it began as a list focused on actresses, no area of erotic discussion of Doctor Who is now excluded (though in practice the bulk of the postings continues to be from male heterosexual or lesbian viewpoints). So if your particular taste isn't being represented, don't complain that you're being deliberately excluded: post something about it yourself and start a discussion! WHAT SHOULDN'T I POST TO SADWANK? There are very few limitations on what can be posted. No sexual practice is disallowed or considered 'deviant', although we have a rule that posts dealing with rape scenarios must indicate this in their subject line. (This is because one sadwanker has been a rape victim herself.) However, rape fantasies *are* acceptable on Sadwank subject to that rule (which does not apply to any other sexual practice, including non-consensual spanking). There are three specific categories of unwelcome material: (1) Spam. This would include general sex-related material unconnected to Doctor Who. (2) Binaries. This is not because we don't like looking at pictures, but simply because of the time they take to download. (3) Sexual hatred. Sexual intolerance will not be tolerated on Sadwank. Anyone offended by sexual material in general should not have subscribed to the list (which is defined on onelist as being for over-21s only), and anyone who has a problem with a particular sexual practice should avoid posting about it in derogatory terms. However, this is not to say that Sadwank excludes rational discussion about people's preferences, including negative preferences. Of course there is no single sadwanker who will share all of the tastes represented on the list: some people may be squicked [sexually disgusted] by material which others will find powerfully erotic. This means that no single person can define the tone and content of Sadwank according to his or her own preferences. If you don't like something, it's entirely in order to say so, and why; but it is totally out of order to say it should never have been posted, or to call the contributor a filthy pervert! HOW CAN I CATCH UP WITH WHAT I'VE MISSED? There have been thousands of messages posted to Sadwank since it began. An archive was established here in April 1999 and is maintained by Heather Smith. This contains a growing selection of the most interesting material. Anything posted to sadwank can be considered for the archive, unless the poster specifically requests otherwise. WHO WILL I MEET ON SADWANK? Sadwankers come in both genders and many sexual orientations. Some of them have written these brief self-introductions: KELLY ADEY (known as Kel) claims that Curse of Peladon frightened her as a kiddie, but we think she just wanted an excuse to hide under Jo's skirt. Her ambition: to slash the Seventh Doctor with Jim Carver off The Bill (don't ask). Mention Liz or Jo in boots, and she'll follow you anywhere. ARTIMUS (known to some as KingSpyder) maintains the Doctor Who Naughty Images Page (DW: NIP) (http://www.xxxhome.com/dwnip). His favourite companions are Ace and Grace and his favorite Sadwank moment is Ace getting wet in Battlefield. Too bad she had that jacket on! STEPHEN BLACK (who wrote this FAQ!) attributes his sadwanky obsessions to an encounter with Day of the Daleks during puberty. He posts to Sadwank about many different topics, but the subject closest to his heart (or lower down) is female companions' knickers. ROBIN BLAND is a male, heterosexual, middle-aged, American fan of the series. He is best known for his scrutiny of DW episodes looking for the Sadwank moments followed by his descriptive postings (approximately monthly). His seven favorite companions are Zoe, Jo, Romana II, Tegan, Ace, Benny, and Sam. JOHNNY CAT (alias Slumberlord and Sleep Guy) is a fan of Romana 2, Jo and Ace, and his favourite Sadwank moments are Leela in the Sewer (Weng-Chiang) and Ace on the ladder (Curse of Fenric). SHIRLEY COLE likes Sarah Jane and Romana 2, and her favourite Sadwank moment is when TomDoc lands on top of Leela in "Image of the Fendahl" DOOMLORD is a very insatiable lover of all things Perpugilliam and Brown and his posts often reflect his obsession with this very shapely companion. He also has a distinct fondness for Romana 2 (especially when clad in a schoolgirl outfit!), and his favourite Sadwank moment is Peri's mouthwatering Two Doctors appearance! JG HARRISON's favourite companions are Turlough, Harry, Jamie, Steven, Sarah Jane, Tegan, Nyssa, and her favourite Sadwank moments are Turlough in the Speedos in "Planet of Fire", Turlough in most of "Terminus", and the 5th Doctor in his robe in "Black Orchid." REUBEN HERFINDAHL doesn't post as often as he feels he should. His favourite companions are Ace, Jo, Nyssa, Zoe, Victoria, Peri, and he enjoys the innocent and helpless look of some of the companions. Then of course there is the bouncy bouncy aspects of Peri that are very appealing. HARRY KERSEY's fantasies center on the Doctor punishing his female companions by spanking them. In 'Doctor Who - The Spanking Adventures', he adapts televized stories to include this scenario. His favorite story is 'The Prison in Space', which was never actually made, but was to have featured a Jamie/Zoe spanking scene. DOUGLAS B. KILLINGS had a huge crush on Sarah-Jane when he was about 15, but also lusts after Nyssa, Leela, Romana I and Zoe. His favorite Sadwank moment is the Striptease, Terminus. Hands down, no contest. RUSS MASSEY (alias Rutan) watched Dr Who from an early age, and puberty would have coincided with the Jo Grant era, which may explain a lot. He doesn't have any huge preference for any single companion. The only ones that do little for him are Vicki, Romana II and Peri. CORY McCASLAND (alias CDM) enjoys watching Ace, Peri, Sarah Jane, Turlough, Yates, Jo, Samantha Jones, Bernice Summerfield, and his favorite Sadwank moment is Sarah Jane in her Andy Pandy suit in "Hand of Fear". MILLHOUSE 9 has been watching Who from a Sadwank point of view for about 15 years, starting with Jo Grant in her white boots (and red knickers) in Day of the Daleks. Boots are a favourite topic of his, and thus his favourite companions are those who often wear knee-high boots (and preferably short skirts as well): Liz, Zoe, Sarah Jane and of course the wonderful Jo. JOHN O'HALLORAN (alias NightFlier) has been watching Dr Who since he was a teen in the early 70s. Raging teen hormones and Sarah Jane's tight pants, set his preferences for life. His favorite Sadwank moment is Nyssa falling into the creek at the beginning of Castrovalva and his favorite Companion "part" is their bottoms, not to spank, but admire the curve, the squezzablity, the softness... DOUG A SCOTT is a hetero-male currently living in British Columbia, Canada. As well as writing the on-going "Sadwanker's Views" for the list, he is the author/complier of the on-line "Doctor Who Chronology." Companions he most lusts after are: Liz Shaw, Romana (both of her) and Tegan and his main sexual obsessions are lingerie and female/female sex. HEATHER SMITH maintains the Sadwank website, is bisexual and has a fascination with arses, although she posts on just about all subjects. She doesn't really have a favourite companion, although Ian, the Brigadier and Jo are all pretty high on the list. She attributes her Sadwank status to general perversion. ADAM STONE (alias Ash) likes watching Polly, Victoria, Zoe, Liz, Jo, Tegan, Nyssa, Peri, Ace, Harry Sullivan, and his favorite Sadwank moment concerns Jo in Day of the Daleks.
